THE IMPORTANCE OF TRADITION

The production of beer begins with growing the raw materials: the choice of using a limited chain of production and distribution allows every beer to have a deep connection with its origins.

That's where the name“la stecciaia” comes from, a neologism which indicates the state of the fields after the harvest, a word tied to the Senese dialect: in our grandparents language the“stecce”  were the straw stalks left in the ground after harvest.

They are part of the Senese landscape of ones imagination, the picture post-card beauty which comes from the continuation of ancient agricultural traditions.

THE IMPORTANCE OF BODIVERSITY

La Stecciaia brewery was established on the Podere del Pereto di Riva Isabella agricultural estate; this project gives new value to our company's experience in cultivating organic cereals gained throughout the last twenty years.

Podere del Pereto began its organic production, certified by ICEA, back in 1995.

The careful selection and recovery of ancient varieties of cereals that are typical of our area contribute to giving our beers a unique flavour and exceptional nutritional values, which make them so distinct and original on their relevant market.
